On leaving school I attended the National Art School, whilst working as a Graphic Artist. Two years were then spent travelling and working as air crew with British Airways. Returned to Sydney and the advertising world, holding positions from Art Director to Print production.
By moving to the Snowy Mountains I was able to paint full time as well as attending painting and drawing classes at the TAFE, this allowed me to teach in watercolour, pastel, drawing and acrylics. These classes were at Thredbo and Perisher and surrounding areas, simultaneously I ran a gallery at Perisher and a competitive Art Show for Thredbo.
On moving to Canberra , I attended the Australian National University completing a BA (Visual). Since that time I have worked from my studio at home, a studio at Australian National Capital Artists, Dickson for 6 years , then M16 Artspace, Griffith for 4 years. During this time I have had 10 solo Exhibitions and participated in a number of group exhibitions.
Although I have produced work in most mediums this day I work mainly in oils, sometimes with acrylic underpainting, on stretched canvas. Although I have painted figurative and animal subjects, I am repeatedly drawn to the environment and having been lucky enough to have travelled over a vast area of Australia , and find it a visual feast of formation and colour, constantly supplying me as a source of the emotive power of nature and therefore inspiration.
