About

A land lover with a connection to the ocean creates a surprise on the canvas with swimming colours and textures.
For someone who was born on the edge of a desert, gets seasick and was scared of the deep end of the local swimming pool, my art is intrinsically connected to the ocean.
Many voyages both in motherhood, and my career has navigated me to create artworks that depict a sense of freedom.
When I became a mother I wanted my children to be able to enjoy the beach, so we moved to a seaside town South of Perth in Western Australia. All my spare time was not only taking them to the beach to play but discovering the many secret bays, looking at ocean vistas, walking on the tide lines and rummaging in the drift of the ocean that was left on the beaches.
My paintings swim the spectrum of colours, from an ocean wave to the sandy creams of shells and bright sunshine reflections. The free application of both palette knife and brush strokes in my paintings sweep the canvas. The joy of the overboard scenes that encapsulate life of beach and ocean eventually find their way to the canvas.
Nature, colour and family is shared on the canvas, when I find it hard to resist painting something that gives me joy, so filtering into my work is the relationship of people and place or people and objects, my art is constantly evolving and surprises me in the revelation
