Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed certificate of authenticity.

Port Stephens, on the NSW mid coast, has been my family's favourite summer holiday destination for the past 30 years. We love all of Port Stephens, but specially Nelson Bay where we have owned a holiday residence for decades. My inspiration for this painting is a secluded beach in the heart of Nelson Bay, where we spend a lot of time. I used mainly the palette knife for this painting, which I enjoy very much. Some small boats can be seen in the distance. It is a little painting with a big heart.
It can be framed but it does not need to as the painting continues on the sides of the canvas. Ready to hang. Strong wire across the back.

View of a solitary beach from the top of a grey long downhill stairs. A few palm trees on the shoreline. Grey rocky mountaiins surround the beach. A solitary red umbrella on the edge of the water. There is a person under the umbrella and another one entering the surf. The surf is rough. Water splattering around the many rocks in the water. Large palm leaves on the right hand side of the painting. More palm leaves and little red flowers on the left hand side of the painting. Cobalt blue sky.A small cafe in a cobble stoned street in the Old Town of Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. There are several tables with chairs and red umbrellas on the side of the road. People sitting under the umbrellas enjoying drinks. The buildings are white, old colonial buildings from the time of the Spanish and the Portuguese. There is a bicycle leaning against the wall of a building on the right side of the painting. Also a blue bench. Greenery and red hibiscus flowers cascading from the buildings. Pot plants on the footpaths. Balconies on the buildings. View of main street of The Rocks in Sydney in the evening. Bright lights illuminate the buildings on both sides of the street, giving the scene a shimmering ochre colour glow. The Sydney Harbour Bridge can be seen in the background painted in shimmering white with a backdrop of a dark blue, almost black, sky. There are tables and umbrellas on the footpath, outside restaurants, with people sitting, enjoying the evening. There is a pedestrian crossing and people walking across. Beautiful Spring day on Sydney Harbour.
View of Circular Quay on Sydney Harbour from a high position. A large cruise ship docked at the Quay. People walking everywhere on the harbour foreshore.
The Sydney Harbour Bridge at the end of the foreshore.
The Sydney Opera House across the water but not far away. Boats and yachts on the water. Pink Jacaranda flowers in full bloom on the foreground.
