Artwork Description

A typical Tuscany house, reminiscent of the happy days my husband and I spent in Maranello a few years ago. The never ending sun, the colourful flowers everywhere., the rolling hills, the beautiful architecture.
This painting is part of a series of Mediterranean paintings. I made all the paintings in the series in a small format with the idea in mind that art lovers can hang more than one on one wall. Look for my other Mediterranean inspired artwork if you'd like to match and mix.
I used Matisse Structure professional quality acrylics on a gallery stretched canvas. The sides are painted in a matching Raw Sienna colour. It does not require a frame.

Artist Bio

I was born in the coastal town of Colonia del Sacramento, on the banks of the River Plate, in Uruguay, South America.
I began attending art classes when I was ten years old, studying with well known Uruguayan artists who taught me everything I know and to whom I still refer today. Art has always been a big part of life in Uruguay and most of South America.

When I was in high school I started taking part in group exhibitions and had the exhilarating experience of discovering that people liked my work and bought it. I sold my first painting at the age of 14.
I also completed two years of a bachelor’s degree in architecture. Hence my passion for drawing and painting buildings.

I moved to Australia at a young age and have lived here since then, with a brief stint in Los Angeles, USA, during the 1990s.

I worked ten years as a writer for the NSW State Government; and also as a journalist, both on the print and online media. I was part owner and editor of the Hispano American Newspaper in Australia (print) for 13 years, and Latino America Viva (online) for 12 years.

I also taught art at Castle Hill Art Society, Bankstown Art Society, Blacktown Community Centre and Fairfield Council Arts Centre.

My paintings are inspired by the places I have visited in my extensive travels, both overseas and across this amazing country. I love the colours of the Australian outback, the brilliance of Sydney Harbour and the amazingly vibrant hues of the Australian beaches. My favourite subjects are architecture and the sea.
Most of my paintings are oils, I love their richness and buttery texture which suit my contemporary impressionist style. My favourite tool is the palette knife; it gives the painting a fresh and loose look.

I have been fortunate that my paintings have sold steadily since those early years. Now my work can be found in several countries, including Australia, Uruguay, USA, Japan, Singapore, South Korea.
