Here, Carol has painted the Tjukurrpa (Dreaming story) of Tjilkamata. This work depicts the country near Kaltukatjara, where there are lots of grasstrees, an iconic and prehistoric-looking staple of the Western Desert landscape. In the Tjukurrpa associated with this area, some men, women and children were turned into these grass trees. This is the Tjukurrpa my father told me to paint. "Only one, really one" says Carol.
