Caroline Borghetto is a Torquay-based emerging artist. Caroline works across various mediums, primarily in abstract, she explores painting, mixed-media, collage, textiles, drawing and photography. Caroline has been creating art since 2008 and committed to her artistic journey more seriously in 2020, she has recently completed studies in visual arts at Oxygen College.
Carolineโs work is a metaphor of her lived experience, as a woman, daughter, mother, partner, citizen, friend and recovering perfectionist. The pursuit of harmony, by disruption, and the tension between organisation and spontaneity are central to her work. Caroline's pieces are a vivid testament to her quest for balance and order amidst disorder. Her use of space, colour, form, and texture embodies this internal dialogue, resulting in artworks that are as emotionally resonant as they are visually captivating. Each piece tells a story of reconciliation, inviting viewers to explore the nuanced interplay of control and spontaneity not only in her practice, but in their own experiences.
Caroline's artistic journey is a testament to her dedication to the arts, having been awarded two residencies, including the Neighbourhood Lab Artist Residency at Platform Arts, and exhibiting a number of times over the last two years, Caroline has immersed herself in creative discovery and growth. As an Exhibition Coordinator at Hoop Gallery, Torquay, Caroline has discovered unparalleled fulfilment in guiding artists and curating spaces that invite audiences in to explore the immense gift and diversity of art and artists.
