Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

This oil painting features the beautiful coloured rocks of the Gos Morne National Park in Newfoundland in Canada. I loved this National Park (whose name translates as “Big Gloomy”) because it is misty and wonderfully brooding at times, while when the sun is shining, the colours are bright and amazing. There is much to see here, besides the rocks, like the boat trip up the river and the walk to see the only place on earth where you can see the Earth’s Mantle as it rises up out of the land. In fact if I had to pick 10 places in the world that I most enjoyed I would definitely put Newfoundland and Gros Morne NP right up there. One day I will go back and paint more of the rocks. My one regret is that I didn’t take more photos.
