Carolyn is a contemporary artist with a studio at Long Jetty N.S.W. who has always had a keen interest and passion for art in many forms. She has been creating art for over 15 years, including many solo and countless joint exhibitions since 2006. Her work is mostly abstract but she also paints impressionistic works. Living near the lake her works suggest reflections of light and shade on the water, the turmoil during a storm or the tossing of waves. When starting a new canvas, the feeling is of a fresh beginning, the excitement of a new creation. Often the work begins with a colour palette and a mental image that grows over many layers and resolves into a completed work.
She truly enjoys pushing the boundaries and experimenting with new techniques and exploring different mediums. Every piece she creates is with high quality acrylic or oil paint on stretched canvas, some works framed. Each piece is an expression and extension of herself.
