I’m drawn to the quiet beauty of the Australian countryside in this work, where rolling hills, open fields and distant trees come together in a landscape that feels both familiar and full of energy. I’ve used a warm palette of earthy greens, ochres and sunlit apricots, allowing the colours to shift and glow across the canvas. The soft sky creates a sense of space and calm, while the sweeping marks and bursts of brighter colour bring the landscape to life.
I wanted this painting to capture more than a literal view of the countryside — it’s about the feeling of being there, surrounded by open land, light and endless horizons. I’ve allowed my brushwork to remain loose and intuitive, layering expressive marks and textures to suggest the movement of grasses, the contours of the hills and the changing light across the land. For me, it is a celebration of the warmth, character and understated beauty of the Australian landscape.

The work is created in acrylic paint with a very slight touch of charcoal and pastel. All work has been sealed and varnished for protection.
