Outback, a Place to Dream captures my enduring connection to this land — its resilience, its raw beauty and its gentle, unspoken presence. It is a place that asks you to slow down, to look closely, and to feel its spirit rather than simply observe it. In this work, I’ve used layered marks and soft, earthy tones to express the rhythm and resilience of the outback. Subtle shifts in colour and texture reflect the way the land changes with light, weather and time. My signature scribbles sit gently within the composition, suggesting movement, growth and life beneath the surface.
The land is alive with movement and texture. Warm ochres, sandy creams, and earthy browns blend with deep greens and muted pinks, creating a layered and organic surface. My expressive brushstrokes and mark-making suggest scrub, grasses, and worn ground, evoking the feeling of an Australian countryside shaped by time, weather, and light.
