Quietude. A state of stillness and calm held within a person or place; a sense of freedom from storm or disturbance. Introspective and ethereal, this work embraces solitude as a means of respite from the worries of the world.
This painting was built up layer by layer in oils, working from a monochromatic under-painting through to delicately applied layers of colour and fine detail. The canvas is framed in a minimal and neutral raw Tasmanian Oak float frame which complements the flesh tones of the subject, it is equipped with a wire and ready to hang.
