Artwork Description

'After Midnight' is a pencil drawing created as part of my Dreamscape series. These ethereal and delicately detailed landscapes traverse the boundaries between dream and reality.

The drawing is 16 x 24.7cm, with an additional 2.5cm white border surrounding all sides to allow for framing. I have signed the piece within this white space, on the bottom-right corner just below the edge of the drawing. It is unframed, and fixative has been applied to the surface but please take care. This piece will be shipped in a sturdy mailing tube.

Artist Bio

Casey Thornton is a figurative realist oil painter from regional Western Australia, with a keen interest in the techniques used by the old masters. Her keenly observed and highly detailed works aim to capture an authentic representation of the world, and invite a quiet moment of pause, introspection and welcome respite from a constantly ‘switched on’ world.

Thornton studied a Bachelor of Humanities (Fine Art) at Curtin University, and in recent years has studied at The Art Academy in Adelaide. Her artworks are held in private collections across Australia and overseas, and one piece has been selected for inclusion in ‘The Nova Collection’ lunar time capsule.
