Artwork Description

In Banksia Study, Catherine captures the quiet resilence of the Australian landscape through the scuptural elegance of the banksia. Each cone and leaf rendered in pen and watercolour celebrates the fascinating rhythms of the banksia seed pods. Collectors would be drawn to this distinctly Australian piece.

Artist Bio

Catherine O'Doherty is a watercolour and pen artist whose work moves between the intimate stillness of botanical forms and the quiet drama of everyday environments. Based in Thirroul, NSW, she creates paintings that balance precision with atmosphere, revealing the emotional charge within ordinary subjects, a protea leaning towards light, a cluster of eucalyptus blossoms, the reflective hush of and industrial site. Catherine's is known for her mastery of transparency and compositional rhythm. She continues to develop a body of work that bridges the natural and constructed and the delicate and the bold.
