Artwork Description

"Caffè Culture" captures the quintessential coffee society that can only be found in Italy. In my travels, l've discovered some of the best caffè's in alleys and back streets, hidden like little gems. Often with cute awnings and overflowing with old world charm.

I can smell the aroma of the espresso brewing and imagine myself taking that first sip, sitting under the awning and immersing myself in my surroundings.

Ok, so I can't afford an Italian holiday right now, but looking at this painting while sipping a home made espresso has got to be the next best thing. Right?!?

This painting comes in a custom made repurposed timber frame & is ready to hang in your space with wire & D-rings. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity,

Artist Bio

Cath Michael is a Brisbane-based fine artist whose practice explores nostalgia, memory and mid-century modern aesthetics through contemporary realism and geometric abstraction.

Known primarily for her detailed realist paintings, Cath depicts still life scenes, mid-century furniture, vintage objects and retro interiors. Her meticulous approach captures the clean lines, textures and distinctive geometry of her subjects, transforming familiar objects and spaces into visual records of cherished memories and bygone eras.

At the heart of Cath’s work is a fascination with the emotional connection we form with objects and places. Through her paintings, she seeks to preserve these fragments of the past and evoke a sense of warmth, familiarity and nostalgia.

More recently, Cath has expanded her practice into abstract geometric works, drawing inspiration from the bold forms and iconic supergraphics of the 1960s and 1970s. Bringing a fresh perspective to her enduring love of retro design, these pieces are designed to sit harmoniously within both contemporary and mid-century modern interiors.

Cath’s paintings have been selected as finalists in numerous art prizes and exhibited in galleries throughout Australia, gaining recognition for their detailed craftsmanship, nostalgic character and timeless appeal.
