Cath Michael is a Brisbane-based fine artist whose practice explores nostalgia, memory and Mid-Century Modern aesthetics through contemporary realism and geometric abstraction.
Known primarily for her detailed realist paintings, Cath depicts still life scenes, mid-century furniture, vintage objects and retro interiors. Her meticulous approach captures the clean lines, textures and distinctive geometry of her subjects, transforming familiar objects and spaces into visual records of cherished memories and bygone eras.

More recently, Cath has expanded her practice into abstract geometric works, drawing inspiration from the bold forms and 1970s Supergraphics of the Mid-Century and post-Mid-Century eras. Cath’s paintings have been selected as finalists in numerous art prizes and exhibited in galleries throughout Australia, gaining recognition for their detailed craftsmanship, nostalgic character and timeless appeal.
