My Still Life series are a result of integrating what I learnt over the course of six weeks at the Florence Academy of Art where I was taught to work from life under natural light using traditional methods of the masters of the past, and translating nature in a way that is both anatomically accurate and artistically beautiful.

Artist Bio
"Rendering beauty through the clarity of detail and the study of light is paramount to my work. I paint in oil from life using traditional materials and techniques. I’m passionate about art and history and how aesthetics can enhance our lives and uplift our emotions. My influences come from a combination of the academic disciplines taught during the Renaissance and the stylised motifs and geometric shapes of the Art Deco era, resulting in a unique, creative expression."
Primarily self-taught, Abel began painting professionally after moving to Paris in 2000. Influenced greatly by European art and history, she immersed herself in the art museums to help further her skills, steadily building her reputation as a fine art painter. She has exhibited in Australia, France and the USA and is a sought-after portraitist.
She now calls Australia home, and has continued to exhibit and sell both nationally and internationally. She has been a finalist in the Archibald, Sulman and Portia Geach Art Prizes and her works are featured in private collections worldwide. Represented by Australian Galleries, Melbourne.
