Artwork Description

This captivating oil painting immerses viewers in the vibrant energy of a rainforest creek, where the dynamic movement of water flows with life and rhythm. Layered in both delicate glazes and bold impasto techniques, the work captures the intricate interplay of light and shadow as the waterfall cascades over moss-covered rocks, sending ripples through the crystal-clear water below. The transparency of the water is achieved with masterful glazing, allowing the rich textures of submerged stones to emerge through the fluidity of the creek. The verdant foliage of the surrounding rainforest, lush with color and detail, frames the scene, enhancing the sense of depth and tranquility that contrasts with the powerful movement of the water. The balance of texture and color invites the viewer to both experience the calm beauty of the rainforest and feel the exhilarating force of the natural world in motion.

Artist Bio

I have enjoyed painting for as long as I can recall and found my love for art during my teen years at school. I was tutored in pastels and self taught in acrylic and oils.

As a painter I enjoy finding the delicate balance between realism and impressionism and creating harmony in the connection between light, texture, and movement in the landscape. I love the texture of sunlit grass, the play of light sweeping landscapes and the myriad of colours in reflections and water. To capture these, my painting process is a balance between allowing the paint to flow and blend organically through glazing, texturising with a palette knife, or exercising precision and intention in my brushwork.

It is my hope that my paintings inspire others to appreciate the intricate beauty that surrounds us every day.
