My beautiful daughter has the privilege of riding these beauties every week as I watch on in awe. I grew up on a dairy farm but we never had horses, we had motorbikes. In fact horses weren’t even in the neighbours paddocks, but every week I watch my daughter ride and I feel her passion for these magnificent animals. It is her passion that had inspired me to paint one! They are so strong and majestic, feisty and sleek, such wonderful creatures 🖤

Catherine De Maria is a self-taught, Brisbane based artist who has a passion for all things colourful. She loves to produce artwork that is uplifting, vibrant and makes the viewer feel happy and relaxed.
2019 started the emergence of her canvas painting, the desire of always wanting to paint and create came to the forefront when her 4 children were finally all at school. With a preference for acrylics, her technique involves the use of a variety of tools including brushes, palette knives and even scruffy old toothbrushes. Catherine’s true passion comes out while she is building her canvas with many layers but never knowing what the result will be and where it will end up. She loves the surprise that comes from her relaxed and free style of painting.
Catherine’s art is not consigned within the boundaries of a single style, rather her art is constantly changing and evolving as she explores numerous subject matters. She loves and is always trying new techniques and exploring new colour combinations.
