Catherine is a contemporary Australian artist and mother to two daughters. She is based in Sydney and works predominantly in oils and also sometimes works with acrylics, watercolours and mixed media.
Catherine grew up in rural NSW and was actively working on her artwork there before relocated to Sydney in 2014 for her children to attend high school. During this period she continued to nurture her love of fine arts and develop the skills she learned in formal training. Now, with both daughters at university, she has been able to focus solely on her love for creating and displaying her artworks with a newfound energy and passion.
Catherine draws inspiration from the surrounds of her upbringing in rural NSW and from her new environment living in Sydney’s waterside suburbs, with the spectacular palette of Australian waters and flora a regular theme of her artwork.
She is also a keen portrait painter and strives to capture those unique and fleeting expressions and emotions that really capture the essence of her subjects. She has worked on a number of commissions, with children and animals being her favourite subjects to paint.
