I reconnected with my artistic side when my youngest son was in year 12, thanks to his gift of a 4-week student studio block at the Changing Canvas in Glenelg. My artistic style is very much influenced by the dramatic, vibrant and often harsh colours of the Australian outback, where I grew up. My first exhibition was held at the Two Sisters Wine Bar, which has recently reopened as Good Gilbert on the corner of Goodwood Road and Gilbert Street in Goodwood. For that exhibition, I focussed on another part of the world that resonates with me – the Camargue region in France. More recently, I have been experimenting with portraiture.
