Artwork Description

The sun beats down, as a visual melody moves across the earth. The landscape flows with rhythmic energy, swaying to a quiet, natural song.

"A Song Written in the Grass" is an original, imagined landscape inspired by the feeling of walking though the australian landscape in the summer months.

Artist Bio

I am an artist living in the hills of Western Australia. I grew up in England with a passion for creating art and went on to study illustration through a graphic design degree.

I have been continuously creating for many years and now work as a full time artist.
For the last few years I have concentrated on painting, enjoying the process of taking the landscape into the realm of dreamlike, surreal imagery.

My current works are imaginary, invented landscapes. I enjoy playing with combinations of styles and textures, concocting a playful, slightly surreal new place which feels familiar, yet dreamily unfamiliar. Colour is used as a tool alongside the composition to take us back to a time when our emotions were raw, unrefined and powerful.

The painting evolves with constant re-evaluation, editing and layering as an intrinsic part of the process. For me it is very important that I embark on each adventure without knowing the destination, to keep the fun and excitement of the journey fresh, and experience the thrill of a new discovery.

I want my work to feel like a moment where the viewer can quietly pause, and experience a snapshot of joyful wonder.

Please enjoy the paintings and let your walls smile!
