I set out to attempt to capture the power and magnetism of the sea.
I was influenced by the Japanese artist Hokusai' Great Wave. It was in my mind's eye as I painted but only afterwards I realised my wave was going in the opposite direction.

I'd wish a painting like this would cool and calm a space especially on those blistering hot days. I'd hope also Your Beautiful Wave would be a place to rest the eye from the troubled world outside.
