Cathriona's Celtic heritage has been a major influence and driving force for her work. Her inspiration was to fuse Celtic culture, it’s people and atmosphere with the beauty of the Australian landscape to create unique pieces of artwork.

Cathriona’s works are inspired by the patterns and shapes created by her surrounding environment of the Myall River NSW. Her sense of 'place' is taken from mangroves, native birds, fish and bushland. Using a variety of materials and techniques these are layered with sounds and emotions that try to capture the intricate ambience that are inspirational to her various artworks.
Cathriona continues to be inspired by these influences and applies these ideas and styles to her art, creating graphic patterns based on ‘visual grabs’ from every day observations. Cathriona’s artwork also reflects her long-time career as a visual communicator.
