I only studied art during my school days and I began practicing my craft in 1997in Melbourne’s inner city of Murrumbeena helping the local primary school with props and backdrops for their concerts. Then donating finished art works fully framed to raise money for the school.
I hope to capture moment, from elegant ballet dancers in pirouette to the delicate movement in the reflection of a puddle. My quality of materials and use of colour gives subject to my overall delicacy and accuracy whilst still keeping my typical style apparent. I want to try and show detailed reflections of light and dark allowing me to express mood and movement within my artworks giving texture, depth and emotion.
I love working with soft pastels combining that softness with experimental strong daring colors on textured paper. I also Work with water colour on water colour paper and acrylics on canvas again experimenting with colour, shading and perspective always focusing on the ultimate goal of “capturing a moment”.
Each piece has been created in admiration of movement and an exploration of the continuum between bold and delicate expressions. "Being an artist is the same as being infinitely curious. I think I have found a way to dive beneath the surface and say something that feels true, with space to explore." I’m still exploring!!
