Artwork Description

She was waiting for me. I turned a corner on my morning walk and there she was — a flowering gum so laden with bloom she seemed to be offering herself up to the world. There was something almost sacred about the moment. The light, the colour, the sheer generosity of her. Some mornings nature stops you in your tracks and reminds you that beauty asks nothing of us except to be witnessed. I consider myself blessed to have been the one who walked by that day.

Acrylic & oils on canvas, 41 cm x 51 cm. Ready to hang. Frame not included.

Hang "Blessed" somewhere you pass often, and it becomes a small, daily invitation to pause — the same generous burst of colour that once stopped an artist mid-walk, now stopping you mid-day. That warm blush-pink against deep green and earthy tones brings genuine warmth into a room without shouting for attention, lifting neutral walls — cream, soft grey, sage — with real energy rather than noise.

It's the kind of piece that quietly changes the feel of a space, and often becomes the one guests ask about first

Artist Bio

Cathy Schultz is a Perth-based contemporary artist with over 30 years’ experience across painting, photography, digital art and mixed media. Her digital practice begins with her own photography, which she transforms through digital manipulation, layering, colour and mark-making to create distinctive contemporary artworks.

Alongside her digital work, Cathy paints predominately in acrylics and spray paints, sometimes working in oils.

Inspired by the natural world, Cathy is drawn to organic forms, colour, texture and the unexpected possibilities that emerge through experimentation. Her work moves fluidly between traditional and digital processes, with each artwork evolving through an intuitive and exploratory approach.

Based in her Gwelup studio, Cathy continues to explore the relationship between photography, digital art and contemporary visual expression.
