My inspiration for this piece comes from the many bushwalks we used to do when living on the Central Coast. I still like to take photos of the ground beneath my feet as I believe we tend to pass over things that are beautiful without noticing. What we trample underfoot, basically! I think this particular painting would enhance a room by its colourway, the ochres and browns as well as the pastel colours on the dying gumleaves. It is a 'still life' painting, which creates a relaxing, tranquil mood in a room while at the same time providing plenty of detail for a closer look. Plenty to see here!
