My painting was inspired by the expression 'Colour Me'. (or Color Me)
I was intrigued to find out what the origin of the expression is because I kept seeing it written in various places. It alludes to painting a picture and originates from the way in which the English language uses many colours to describe emotional states. For example pink for embarrassed, blue for sad, green for envious and so on. However not all emotions have their own colours and so the word for that feeling replaced the colour.
