Artwork Description

There are many of these beautiful Paperbark trees in my local area, (otherwise known as Melaleuca quinquenervia). Sometimes I go for a walk just to visit and admire them! Impossible to resist getting up close and personal with a tree that has so much character... its form, texture and layers are so appealing. It is strong and hardy, yet its bark feels quite delicate to the touch.
This painting is an abstraction of one of my favourite trees, capturing its unique lively 'personality'.
