ARTIST BACKGROUND
Born in New Zealand and raised in Australia from the age of eight, my creativity was shaped by contrasting cultures and the vivid natural world around me. From an early age, I was drawn to detail and expression—an artistic thread that traces back to my grandmother, whose skill with chalk pastel left a lasting impression. My early explorations began with acrylics, graphite, and coloured pencils, and have since evolved into a broader visual language.
ARTISTIC STYLE & MEDIUM
I’m a visual artist working across two contrasting styles: realism and pop-inspired illustration. My portfolio reflects both technical precision and expressive experimentation, as I continue to refine my artistic voice. Some works represent earlier stages of my development, while others point toward the direction I'm growing into. I'm currently focused on balancing detail with bold expression—creating pieces that not only display skill, but evoke emotion and curiosity. This space is a record of that unfolding process.
While my foundation began in portraiture, I’m currently drawn to still life and illustrative work—merging bold colour, shape, and expressive elements. Common subjects in my work include plant botanicals, sculptural forms, and patterned design. I remain open to circling back to portraiture, particularly in a more illustrative or character-based way, as my style continues to shift and evolve.
I work across a variety of mediums including acrylic, chalk pastel, coloured pencils, alcohol markers, and digital art. I use the flexibility of digital art as a planning tool—helping me sketch ideas, test palettes, and explore composition. This part of my process keeps things fluid and playful, allowing room to create without perfectionism.
EDUCATION & DEVELOPMENT
Although I was a dedicated art student, my artistic growth has been largely self-led—driven not by daily routines but by emotional connection and intuitive moments of inspiration. I often create in response to my internal world, using art to ground myself, process emotions, and return to a sense of creative clarity. Informal learning through books, visual exploration, and hands-on experimentation continues to shape my skills and direction.
EXHIBITIONS & RECOGNITIONS
My work has been featured in several exhibitions over the years, including the Tweed River Art Gallery and the 2016 Art Express exhibition, where my HSC Body of Work “Solace” was displayed in both Sydney and Port Macquarie. Solace was later purchased and permanently displayed at Banora Point High School in honour of its impact.
INSPIRATION & INTENTIONS
Faith is a quiet but guiding force in both my life and creative process, offering a sense of purpose and deeper connection. Artistically, my influences have evolved over time. While Frida Kahlo was first introduced to me in art class in school, I’ve always resonated with her raw emotional honesty and fearless use of colour—qualities I still admire and carry forward in my own way. Today, I’m inspired by artists like Kirsten Kats and New Divine, whose vibrant palettes, botanical themes, and expressive forms celebrate individuality and emotional depth. Ultimately, my work is shaped by inner exploration, sensitivity, and a desire to reflect and inspire creative openness in others.
CURRENT FOCUS
At the moment, I’m exploring still life compositions featuring sculptural elements, botanicals, and intricate patterns. I’m also conceptualising with a few narrative and character-driven ideas that allow me to blend storytelling with visual art. These evolving projects reflect a playful curiosity and offer new ways to explore emotion, form, and connection.
ARTIST STATEMENT
My art is a mirror of movement—between styles, stories, and self. It’s how I explore, question, and reconnect. I don’t aim for finality; I aim for authenticity. Through colour, detail, and evolving expression, I hope to spark emotion, curiosity, and creative openness in others.
