Celia is an artist working with acrylics and mixed media in her studio in Brisbane, Queensland. She has a lifelong passion for painting, drawing, and printmaking, and completed a Bachelor of Education (Visual Art) at Griffith University in 1996.
Celia's abstract expressionist style paintings are a harmonious blend of memories, emotions, and impressions drawn from the natural landscape, organic forms, and tactile textures. She paints intuitively, often employing multiple viewpoints and perspectives within each piece. A defining feature of her work is the interplay of vibrant colour contrasts, distinctive contours, deep texture, and luminous finishes.
Layered throughout Celia’s current works are dynamic passages of light and shadow, which represent energy, strength, and the presence of spiritual influences. These layers create movement and depth, suggesting an unseen vitality that flows through each composition, capturing both the tangible and the transcendent qualities of her inspiration.
