Artist Bio

Celia is a Contemporary Visual Artist based in Melbourne, Australia.

Her work draws inspiration from the universal language of colour, exploring its psychological effects and how it connects to our five senses. Predominantly drawing inspiration from the "colour of scent".

Forming her signature style, all of her work is painted onto "dried fiber paste". Its textured, plaster-like appearance creates a natural and organic feel to her pieces.

Contrasting elements — rigid versus fluid, engineered versus organic form a continual theme in her work.

She draws calculated optical patterns with ruled, repetitious straight lines and layered concentric circles. By fusing geometry and colour, Celia engages symbolically the logical mind and the intuitive spirit.
