Find Brightness

I often use quite bright colours in my works so, while this piece has some bursts of neon pink and mauve, it is a lot more muted than many of my others. A soft pink background with swathes of white keeps this piece really calm, and the little pops of neon are an encouragement to "find brightness" in each day.

Chara Meredith is an artist based in Melbourne, Victoria. Chara's exploration of abstract forms and play of colour has been an evolution from all the doodles made in the margins of notebooks at school, pages of notebooks during lectures and work meetings, and backs of envelopes during calls.

The interplay of pattern, repetition and colour are a common thread in the pieces Chara has created for the last decade. Starting with glass mosaics 10 years ago, then screen printing and, in more recent years, Chara has brought this style on her return to acrylic painting.
