A fun attempt on still life whilst utilising vibrant pop colours. A gorgeous pink pastel underpainting contrasting with the teal tiles. Painted purely for the joy of painting because working as a barista is hard and I need to relax honestly. Sometimes I don’t want to think. but to just enjoy the act of moving my hands whilst feeling productive.

Charlene is a young adult in her early 20s who ethically identifies as Filipina and Australian. She grew up in a humble country town in rural Western Australia with low-socioeconomic background and then moved to Sydney to start a new life in 2020 where she was accepted to study a bachelors of liberal arts and science majoring in visual arts and has now recently graduated. Her artworks explores different stages of her life where she discovers psychologically and therapeutically her ever evolving identity and how art plays an important role in aiding her recovery from challenging environments.
