Artwork Description

This original abstract artwork draws inspiration from Sydney’s striking coastline. Echoes of ocean pools, rock pools, and the ever-changing colours of the sea are woven through the composition, reflecting the quiet beauty and rhythm of coastal life. Created with many layered applications of professional-quality acrylic paint and medium, the surface reveals depth, texture, and subtle movement.

The work is framed in high-quality Tasmanian oak and signed on the back by the artist.

Artist Bio

Charles Hebert has been painting for over 25 years and is a self-taught artist. He moved from Canada to Sydney in 2004 and around that time, he began having solo and group shows and also appeared as a finalist in some art prizes. His medium of choice has always been oil on canvas. He started with smaller canvases and now truly enjoys working with large canvases as he finds he can express himself better and his artworks translate more effectively on a larger scale. His artworks are heavily layered in order to achieve a higher level of depth, richness and energy.

Charles has a strong passion for visual arts. Art is how he communicates without words his deepest thoughts and strongest emotions. The works that he creates are derived from personal experiences and interests. He is inspired by architecture and the Australian landscape.
