Artwork Description

During the quiet nights of the first lockdown in Melbourne, I became painfully aware that the only sound the once busy street outside of my apartment building uttered was the traffic light on the corner. With every beep that informs pedestrians of safe crossing a piece of my sanity was stripped away. Night after night I lay awake begging for someone to press the button to cross the road to end the unrelenting rhythmic beeps. These 2 canvases sum up my lockdown madness, every time I close my eyes all I can see is that traffic light taunting me night after night.

Artist Bio

Hello.
My name is Charli, I am a freelance illustrator from Melbourne Australia. I have been working in and around the arts and entertainment space for the past decade.
People always ask me to describe my style, but I sometimes find it difficult to answer that question as I have such a broad interest. I work in both traditional and digital art, and while I love making vectors and exploring all the new digital techniques, my heart still lies with traditional drawing nothing quite beats a pen scribbling on paper for me. My personal illustrations tends to incorporate a street art x tattoo vibe focussing on fine details and textures.
