Charli Savage is a self-taught conceptual fine art photographer based out of Sydney. Having always found pure joy in reading books and escaping into the worlds that only exist within the confines of those pages, her fondness for the written word has ignited in her a passion to tell stories in her own way - through the art of photography.
She purchased her first camera in 2018 and spent the first few months testing different styles. It wasn’t until she discovered the world of conceptual photography, that she knew she had found her style.
Charli is primarily a self-portrait artist; however, she also enjoys photographing other subjects. She shoots in natural light, preferring overcast weather to set the mood. Despite the images being a composition of photos, Charli transforms these images into art reminiscent of paintings, using Photoshop compositing, colour grading and textural overlays.
Being self-taught has given her the freedom to be boundless in the way she creates. With no rules to follow, the possibilities are endless. Her mission is to create timeless photographic art that reignites that childlike curiosity and explores the unknown, the strange and peculiar. She creates visual stories, set in surreal worlds that stretch the realms of reality and push the boundaries of imagination.
Charli's work is available as limited edition prints in three sizes:
