Artwork Description

For the love of unique art, the current trend dives me into the use to tassels, they are so beautiful but can be removed or replaced later if needed.

Artist Bio

Formr is a deeply personal artistic journey by Charlotte Garwood, rooted in generations of creativity and craftsmanship. Inspired by a lineage of makers, most notably her grandmother, Rose Mawby, who painted in her attic studio in Kilbirnie, Wellington, New Zealand. Charlotte's passion for art was ignited early.

As a child, she found joy in painting and mailing her work to family across the Tasman after relocating to Brisbane, Australia, a ritual that solidified her lifelong connection to self-expression.

Her creative path has never been linear. From studying interior design and working within the prestigious National Gallery of Victoria, to apprenticing under woodworker John Shaw in Nelson, and exploring the physicality of sculpture through a plaster course in Sydney, Charlotte has continuously explored new ways to bring form to feeling.

Formr is the culmination of this journey: a studio dedicated to one-of-a-kind sculptural works, handcrafted from start to finish. Each piece bears the marks of the process, the plaster beneath her nails, the cuts on her hands from folding mesh wire to shape, and the undeniable presence of care. These are not just artworks; they are heirlooms of time, touch, and intention. Each piece is lit up with LED lighting to enhance its appreciation, but however can be an optional feature.

Thank you for your interest in Formr by Charlotte Garwood, where art meets memory, and form meets emotion.
