Mullumbimby town is a lovely town; we have spent many an happy hour wandering through the streets there. This oil painting captures a tender moment between a mother and child along one of the quiet alleyways that line the Main Street. The lush green of the umbrella tree and the swaying palm provide a vibrant backdrop to this little moment.

Charlotte Moore, an emerging artist, has lived on the Gold Coast, Queensland, all her life. Her love of the area, its beautiful coastline and the hills which mark the transition from coast to country, inspire much of her work.

Charlotte’s primary medium is oil paint and she works with an impressionist style. Charlotte is inspired by time spent in the natural environment and also by places that evoke memories of happy times. Both light and colour play an important role in her paintings, conveying a sense of calm and peace that comes from being immersed in nature, while also evoking a familiarity of Gold Coast scenes and the Australian landscape.
