Artwork Description

The scenery sounding Hinze Dam on the Gold Coast is stunning. This impressionistic, thick oil painting is based on a view from the dam, looking back to shore with Pages Pinnacle in the distance. The ghostly fossilised trees that line the dam provide a beautiful, but eerie lining to the shore. The dark hills contrasting with a pale, cloudy sky create a peaceful, yet atmospheric feel to the little painting.

Artist Bio

Charlotte Moore, an emerging artist, has lived on the Gold Coast, Queensland, all her life. Her love of the area, its beautiful coastline and the hills which mark the transition from coast to country, inspire much of her work.

Charlotte’s primary medium is oil paint and she works with an impressionist style. Charlotte is inspired by time spent in the natural environment and also by places that evoke memories of happy times. Both light and colour play an important role in her paintings, conveying a sense of calm and peace that comes from being immersed in nature, while also evoking a familiarity of Gold Coast scenes and the Australian landscape.
