Artwork Description

The creeks found in the Gold Coast hinterland are beautiful. We stopped at this one on a family drive and let the kids run wild. The creek was flowing and so cool; parts swirling along and others peaceful and still. This painting is based on a photo I took of the creek upstream, where the water was flowing freely. The beautiful gum trees lining the creek cast beautiful reflections. I also painted a picture of the creek downstream, where the water was more calm and still. These paintings complement each other, but also can easily stand alone to bring a feeling of peace and tranquillity to a room.

Artist Bio

Charlotte Moore, an emerging artist, has lived on the Gold Coast, Queensland, all her life. Her love of the area, its beautiful coastline and the hills which mark the transition from coast to country, inspire much of her work.

Charlotte’s primary medium is oil paint and she works with an impressionist style. Charlotte is inspired by time spent in the natural environment and also by places that evoke memories of happy times. Both light and colour play an important role in her paintings, conveying a sense of calm and peace that comes from being immersed in nature, while also evoking a familiarity of Gold Coast scenes and the Australian landscape.
