The lady bird symbolises good fortune, innocence and positivity. Hence the title of this piece ‘Blessing’.
I chose a young, youthful subject and placed the ladybirds on her fingers, almost as if she is unaware that they are there. To me, this is representing her innocence and the ladybirds have come to her as her good fortune. Of course, you can perceive this piece in your own way, there is no set right or wrong when it comes to art.
