Artwork Description

This piece was influenced by the resilience of the black community during the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement. This portrait not only reflects the woman’s physical beauty but the beauty of her soul which is shown with the bees. The bees symbolise brightness, personal power and community, all of which are relevant to the story of this woman.

Artist Bio

Charlotte is a self taught artist based in Adelaide, South Australia.

She enjoys focusing on portraying a persons soul through the use of animals and selective colour. The positioning of colour and animals in her work is not random, instead it is highly strategic to emphasise the emotion and personal connection through her drawings.

Her work has been displayed in art exhibitions (including the annual Victor Harbour Art Show), local cafes, banks and local markets.

Charlotte also creates customised pieces for her clients, and is more than happy to discuss creating the perfect piece for you.
