‘Electro reception’
Oil on Canvas

Echidna I saw in White Cliffs NSW
It is concluded that the echidna, like the other Australian representative of the monotremes, the platypus, has an electric sense.
In studies Echidna’s can be trained to respond to weak electric fields in water and moist soil. Electroreceptors in the skin of the beak may sense electrical signals produced by the muscles of invertebrate prey.
This painting is a humorous view of an Echidna and her baby in the beautiful outback opal mining town in White Cliffs NSW.
The Echidna can sense the electro reception from the dust tornadoes which in turn is causing electricity through the satellite dishes and tower ⚡️
