Echidna I saw in White Cliffs NSW
It is concluded that the echidna, like the other Australian representative of the monotremes, the platypus, has an electric sense.
In studies Echidna’s can be trained to respond to weak electric fields in water and moist soil. Electroreceptors in the skin of the beak may sense electrical signals produced by the muscles of invertebrate prey.
