Capricornia King

Having spent much of my adult life living on farms and stations I began to see the individual personalities and beauty of the livestock. The calm majesty of this Brahman caught my eye and the chance to render the beautiful skin folds and subtle colours was just too much to pass up. Rendering it in oil pastels allows me to build up the layers of colour and the smooth, creaminess of the medium was perfect for the subject.
