Artwork Description

A photograph of a signature red cabin of the Gozaisho Ropeway against the verdant forests on the slopes of Mount Gozaisho itself, in Komono, Mie Prefecture, Japan. Mount Gozaisho is one of the highest mountains in the Suzuka Mountain Range between Mie and Shiga Prefectures. The Gozaisho Ropeway connects the top of the mountain to the Yunoyama Hot Springs.

A trip up the cable car to the summit of the mountain seemingly transports one back to the 1980s - with a quaint ski resort accomanied by with a canteen-style eatery and plenty of walks with amazing views of the surrounding cities.

The print is made on a heavy-weight (308 gsm), matte paper (Hahnemüle Cotton Rag) using sunlight-resistant Ultra Chrome Pro 12 inks. The surface of this paper offers a beautiful subtle texture that does not interfere with the image detail and is internationally recognised in art printing as the most popular fine art archival paper.

All dimensions already include a half-inch white border all around the image to allow mounting to frames/passepartouts, if so desired.

The gallery picture of my signature and numbering is purely a sample; all prints are made-to-order and will be sent off signed and correctly numbered on the back. A certificate of authenticity will also be included.

Artist Bio

Hello there!

I'm CJ, an ardent photographer originally from the vibrant city of Singapore, now finding inspiration in the cultural melting pot of Melbourne.

My photographic journey took off during my service in the Air Force, igniting a lifelong passion for capturing the awe-inspiring beauty of nature and the heart-pounding excitement of aviation. While I still remain deeply rooted in the aviation world as a full-time engineer with an airline, photography has become my beloved creative outlet.

I try hard to transform fleeting moments into mesmerizing visual narratives; my aviation shots capture the exhilaration of flight, while my landscapes beckon viewers into worlds of wonder and enchanting tales.

As a blossoming astrophotographer, I also find myself irresistibly drawn to the limitless grandeur of the cosmos, tirelessly honing my craft in this celestial realm.

Please, dive into my portfolio to immerse yourself in breathtaking landscapes and heart-pounding aviation adventures.
