The valley below Lincoln Rock (Blue Mountains National Park) was a sight to behold. Blanketed in a soft, ethereal mist. The fog crept through the low-lying areas, creating an otherworldly ambiance that added an air of mystery to the scene. It swallowed the details of the landscape, leaving only hints of trees and the occasional silhouette of a distant ridges.
As the sun dipped lower on the horizon, its warm golden rays painted the highest points of the valley with a vibrant hue. They seemed to dance with the shadows, creating a breathtaking contrast between light and dark. The illuminated summits stood proudly, as if basking in the celestial spotlight, while the lower slopes remained shrouded in the gentle embrace of mist.
Above, the sky transformed into a canvas of warm colours as the fading blue gave way to yellow, orange, and soft pink. The colours seemed to cascade across the firmament, casting a warm glow over the land below and infusing the atmosphere with a sense of serenity, stillness and calm.
In the the late afternoon, all was calm.
The world seemed to pause, allowing one to appreciate the grandeur of nature's artistry. It was a moment where time stood still, and the beauty of the view into the valley became a timeless masterpiece, etching itself into the memories of those fortunate enough to witness it.
I just had to paint it!
