Artwork Description

Three Sisters Backyard- Looking to Echo point from Sublime Lookout.

As we hurried to reach the Sublime Point lookout before the break of dawn, we knew we were in for a unique and awe-inspiring experience.

This vantage point offered a different perspective, one not often seen by the typical tourist. Instead of facing the popular view, we found ourselves standing behind the majestic rock formation (Three Sisters) , eagerly awaiting the first rays of sunlight to grace its surface.

The back of the rocks revealed their intricate textures, unveiling a hidden world of rugged beauty. The interplay of light and shadow created a mesmerising display, emphasising the enormity and grandeur of the rock formation that stood before us. Beyond the immediate view, the vastness of the valley unfolded in all its glory.

The Three Sisters, iconic and closer than ever from this unique perspective, stood proudly, their distinct shapes etched against the backdrop of the landscape. But it was the sweeping ridges that captured our attention, stretching into the distance as far as the eye could see. Their undulating contours and layers formed a mesmerising tapestry, reminding us of the immense power and time that shaped this land.

The name "Sublime" was well-suited for this lookout, for it perfectly encapsulated the feeling that overwhelmed us as we took in the scene. The sheer magnitude of the valley, the towering rock formation, and the expansive ridges evoked a sense of profound awe and reverence. It was a reminder of the insignificance of our individual presence in the face of such natural splendour, a humbling experience that left us in awe of the beauty that is found in the Blue Mountains.
