Artwork Description

‘And She invited a new beginning’ is part of the ‘Her Landscape - Inner stories/outer worlds’ collection that explores connection stories. This is a story of change and acceptance as the world finds new ways of being and we find our way into the new story. Archetypes transitions and symbols gather forming her evolving landscape. One common symbol in my art is the girl holding an intuition doll. A beautiful symbol of guidance and listening to inner wisdom from the traditional story of the Doll in her pocket of Vasalisa the Wise retold by Clarissa Pinkola Estes.

The question is what part of the image calls to you. Are you the one giving or receiving, are you being supported and guided or are you looking off into the distance and imagining new horizons.
She is this landscape; viewed through a feminine lens inviting you into places of the heart where your own story lives.
This 75 x 75 cm round canvas is layered with at least 10 layers of acrylic paint, ink, collage, grey lead, black biro that build the energy within the image.
She is about stepping into new spaces that are about compassion, acceptance, and heart-opening places and she is ready to receive. Invite this positive energy into your home and add some light to your home.

Artist Bio

Cheryle Bannon – Melbourne Artist – I love to paint calm happy art as imagined impressionistic nature stories that bring a feeling of calm happy spaces for the heart and home. Art is meaning making as a path to understanding our world and finding our way back to harmony and balance.
Available for PAINTINGS, COMMISSIONS, PRINTS of selected artworks and whimsical mixed media sculptures.
I am a mixed media painter and sculptor and have always been involved in the creative arts. I taught art in secondary schools for 30 years alongside regular group shows. I have been a fulltime artist since 2018, exhibiting in both group and solo shows.
I have artworks in private collections both nationally and internationally. I have been an artist in residence working with disengaged youth and in a primary school cluster project.

My intuitive art process is inspired by the random beauty of nature, animal wisdom and birds as a guided process that is a way of making meaning in a world out of balance. I explore colour and light through natural images that inspire emotional connection to our stories through the natural world. Colourful mixed media images begin with symbols and words that build the feeling and energy of the evolving art story. Art as visual stories evoke a sense of peace and balance connecting us to our world. I view art as a meditative process that is mindful and healing. I paint in a variety of sizes using layers of colour, texture and form, using a variety of media such as acrylic paint or watercolour. Art is built through the layers, with a variety of mark-making, collage, inks, pastels, crayons, and resin. The layers create a depth that invites us into the story imagery that comes alive within the art. We enter these visual stories as a participant connecting to the energy and feeling of the piece.
My art is a way to pause and explore the layers of colour, emotion and story that are an, honouring of the Earth and her wisdom. through exploring the depth of our personal and global connected storied worlds. Art is an exploration of inner landscapes and outer worlds as a way to connect to those breathing spaces that remind us of balance and flow.
Every beautiful moment brings inspiration and opens us to connections to our own calm happy heart stories.
