Artwork Description

Cultivar Monologues series, a figurative practice that elevates individual plant cultivars to solo on the stage of canvas, each demanding just like a portrait subject. (Where Glance At the Garden captured the garden’s emergence and rhythm) — This series isolates singular botanical personalities—one bush, one bloom, one cultivar—rendered with a little bit of extra moods and characters.

Altissimo, Italian for very high, is a vigorous rose, blood-red, cloud-climbing rose known for its large, single-petaled and velvety-textured blooms.
