London Arch was formerly known as London Bridge, but the mass joining the arch to the mainland collapsed. It is a classic example of coastal limestone landscapes undergoing continuous erosion by the sea.
One of the attractions along the Great Ocean Road, Victoria, you really have to be there to feel the sea beating against the coast and the granduer of the landscape.
I used rare and precious natural materials like lapis lazuli and botanical indigo, together with Australian ochres in acrylic mixed with phosphorescent paint to create intense colours that reflect the power and immensity of the landscape.
The painting is on canvas stretched over heavy, solid timber. It needs a wire across the back for hanging. If you would like me to attach it for you, please let me know prior to shipping.
